The track, which features the pop singer and her new husband Travis Scott, is available now via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play, and Stitcher.
The song has the power to be both a love song and a diss track, as Rihanna takes aim at Travis Scott and his current romance with fellow hip hop artist Lil Wayne.
In “Bitches,” Rihanna is a loud, obnoxious bitch and Travis Scott is her boogeyman.
He calls her out on her “f***ing stupid” behavior, and when she refuses to back down, he gets a phone call from his wife, who, she says, “knows how to be a bitch.”
Travis Scott responds by calling Rihanna “that bitch.”
The lyrics are pretty tame for Rihanna, who sings about her inability to control her emotions and how she’s “not gonna change a thing.”
But the real meat of the track is Rihanna trying to make her husband proud, to make him proud of her and the couple.
She even goes so far as to say that she’s not jealous of Travis Scott.
When she tries to say, “You know, it’s my fault I didn’t listen to him earlier,” Travis Scott cuts her off and says, in her defense, “That bitch is your fault.”
She continues, “Now I know why you can’t listen, and I know you can still’t hear.
You can still see that bitch’s face when you see her.”
I’ve seen a lot of people say, ‘I don’t know what to say.’
And I’m here to tell you, I’m going to say it.
She’s not a bad bitch.
She just doesn’t listen.
She can’t even control her anger.
It’s not just jealousy, it comes from an ego.
You have to have a healthy ego.
So the reason you don’t listen is because you’re jealous of your husband.
You’re jealous that he’s the one who is going to make you happy, who’s going to do it for you.
That’s why you want to get on his level.
But you need to listen to your partner, too, because she’s the reason that you can see his face.
Travis is the reason your relationship is working.
And the reason why you’re so happy is because he’s your partner.
I can’t control what you think or how you feel.
You just have to listen.
I know how to listen.
“It’s a message that will resonate with a lot more people than a lot fewer.
The song has already had more than 1.6 million plays on Spotify, and it has been downloaded more than 4.3 million times.
